New Castle County Governor’s Task Force arrests man on drug charges after traffic stop in Wilmington – Delaware State Police

Delaware State Police arrested a 28-year-old man Tavon White of Newark, Delaware, on drug charges following a traffic stop in Wilmington Thursday afternoon.

On November 7, 2024, at approximately 1:40 p.m., members of the New Castle County Governor’s Task Force patrolling Governor Printz Boulevard in the area of ​​35th Street in Wilmington observed a Jeep Patriot committing multiple traffic violations. Investigators conducted a traffic stop on the Jeep and made contact with the driver and sole occupant, identified as Tavon White. During the traffic stop, investigators discovered that White did not have a valid driver’s license and asked him to get out of the SUV. After White exited the Jeep, investigators conducted a consensual search of his person. The search resulted in the discovery of 57 bags containing approximately 1.71 grams of heroin and $1,504 in suspected drug trafficking proceeds.

White was taken into custody without incident and transported to Troop 1 where he was charged with the offenses listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace 11 and remanded to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $3,150 bail.
