The Ravens offered a third-round pick to Saints CB Marshon Lattimore

After a night in which the Baltimore Ravens allowed 428 passing yards and four touchdowns to Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, with 264 yards and three touchdowns going to star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, it was reported that the New Orleans Saints, Marshon Lattimore, was a member of the Purple and Black at the trade deadline just a few days earlier.

According to NFL insider Albert Breer, the Ravens offered the Saints a third-round pick for the four-time Pro Bowler, but were ultimately outbid by the Washington Commanders.

Instead, Baltimore traded Los Angeles Rams cornerback Tre’Davious White for a 2026 sixth-round pick and received back a 2027 seventh-round pick as part of the deal.

The Ravens’ pass defense has been the team’s biggest weakness through the first ten weeks of the season, and that has never been more evident than in Thursday night’s game against the Bengals. Baltimore’s safety play was a big reason for the unit’s regression, but cornerback Brandon Stephens had a rough season after a breakout performance in 2023. Veteran cornerback Marlon Humphrey is playing at a high level again, forcing a game-winning fumble on running back Chase Brown to launch a comeback win over Cincinnati, and rookie first-rounder Nate Wiggins has a solid performance. The team could still use any form of help in the secondary.

It remains to be seen whether or not White can make a difference in the Ravens’ second round. The former first-rounder has struggled this season, resulting in several inactivations as he was a healthy player on game day for the Rams. The former All-Pro cornerback suffered a torn ACL in 2021 with the Buffalo Bills and is recovering from a torn Achilles tendon that ended his 2023 season.
