Wanted Natchitoches man arrested on drug and weapons charges

NATCHITOCHES, La. (CALF) – A traffic stop by Robeline Police led to the arrest of a Natchitoches man wanted by Natchitoches Police and the Natchitoches City Marshal’s Office on outstanding warrants, resulting in the seizure of illegal drugs and the recovery of two stolen firearms, according to NPSO.

On November 10th at 9:43 p.m., NPSO said RPD stopped a passing vehicle Kendrick M. Williams, Jr.24, on Texas Street in Robeline for a traffic violation.

During the traffic stop and while speaking with Williams, NPSO said they informed RPD that Williams had seven outstanding warrants through NPD and the Natchitoches City Marshal’s Office.

Williams was arrested without incident. Due to the strong odor of marijuana, NPSO was called to assist.

NPSO said officers asked Williams if he had any illegal drugs in the vehicle. He said there were no illegal drugs in the vehicle, although he did have a handgun in the driver’s door.

NPSO said a search of the vehicle revealed a Ruger .380 semi-automatic handgun reported stolen in Texas, a Sccy CPX-2 9mm drum magazine semi-automatic handgun reported stolen by NPSO, three others Magazines and a digital scale.

NPSO said officers also discovered a cellophane bag containing approximately six grams of suspected marijuana wedged between the cage and the floor in the Robeline police unit where Williams was sitting during the arrest.

Willaims was booked into the LaSalle Corrections Center in Natchitoches, charged with seven warrants issued by the NPD and the City Marshal’s Office, two counts of illegal possession of stolen firearms, possession of marijuana, criminal obstruction of justice and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The investigation, which has been turned over to the NPSO Criminal Investigations Bureau, remains active and continues as Williams’ involvement in the stolen firearms is investigated.
