Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Admits To Peeing In Water Bottles On Set: ‘Yeah, That Happens’ | Dwayne Johnson (The Rock)

Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, has admitted that he sometimes urinates in water bottles while filming – and is occasionally a little late to filming.

In an interview with GQ magazine, the actor and producer responded to claims from industry news site The Wrap about his on-set behavior while filming his latest film, the Christmas comedy Red One: “I’ve said a thousand times, ‘Hey, I’m here.’ Come and ask me. And I will tell you the truth.’ ”

The viral April article blamed Johnson’s alleged chronic tardiness in part for driving up the $250 million action comedy’s budget. Insiders said he showed up up to eight hours late during filming, forcing filmmakers to shoot scenes around him.

The Wrap also reported that the star regularly peed in water bottles while filming his films. Johnson, who has previously admitted to using bottles to save time while working out, admitted to GQ that this habit extends to his film work: “Yeah, that happens.”

In response to reports of delays, he replied: “Yes, that happens too. But not that much, by the way. That was a bananas amount. That’s crazy. Ridiculous.”

Confirming his star, Red One director Jake Kasdan told GQ that Johnson, who plays Santa’s bodyguard in the film, “never missed a day of work.” He has a lot going on. He can be late sometimes, but that’s Hollywood – it’s the same for everyone. To be honest, I did three big films with him. I’ve never seen him be anything other than great to every single person on set.”

Red One co-star Chris Evans also supported him: “In terms of the guy I’ve seen, compared to some of the things I’ve seen in other films with other actors, not just aware of other people are time and effort, but they are unpredictable? I found that Dwayne – we all know exactly what he’s going to do when he’s going to do it.”

Evans told GQ that Johnson was sometimes late on the mornings he worked out. “Some mornings he comes a little later, but that’s part of the plan. It’s worked into the schedules and everyone knows it, so he shows up when he’s supposed to show up.”

Red One received mostly negative reviews, with Peter Bradshaw of the Guardian awarding it one star and describing it as “deeply depressing and mildly sentimental”.
