Mariah Carey is set to be deposed in her brother’s lawsuit over her memoir

Mariah Carey is reportedly being questioned by a team of her brother’s lawyers about allegations she made about her estranged sibling in her memoir. The legendary singer is expected to be deposed on January 17 after brother Morgan launched a lawsuit in 2021 following the publication of Carey’s memoir. The Meaning of Mariah Careyaccording to the USA Sun. Morgan claims Carey lied in her memoir when she claimed Morgan was violent toward her and sold drugs in a New York nightclub. The two have reportedly not spoken to each other since 1994. “I was a little girl and had few memories of a big brother to protect me,” she wrote. “More often I felt like I had to protect myself from him, and sometimes I had to protect my mother from him.” Morgan has denied the allegations, saying Carey made “false and defamatory, personally hurtful and painful” allegations about her brother spread. “[Morgan] “Brings this action out of sadness and disappointment at his sister’s betrayal and malicious falsehoods rather than anger over them,” the lawsuit states Sun. Although a judge dismissed most of the lawsuit in 2022, two parts were allowed to proceed, including the allegation that he was a drug dealer.
