K-drama star Song Jae-lim dies at 39: Tragedy as friend finds star’s body in his home, with ‘note found at crime scene’

A South Korean K-drama actor has tragically died at the age of 39.

Song Jae-lim, best known for his starring role in the TV series “Moon Embracing the Sun,” was found dead at his home in Seoul on November 7, according to Seoul Seongdong police.

His body was found by a friend who arrived at the apartment around 12:30 p.m. to have lunch with Song, police added.

A “two-page letter” was reportedly found at the scene, reports Korean newspaper Soompi. Police said there were “no signs of foul play.” The cause of Song’s death is not yet known.

Song is expected to be laid to rest on November 14.

The K-drama actor debuted in the 2009 film Actresses before rising to stardom with his role as the king’s loyal bodyguard in the 2012 series Moon Embracing the Sun.

Song also appeared on the reality show We Got Married in 2014, as well as K-dramas such as “Cool Guys,” “Hot Ramen,” “Inspiring Generations,” “Two Weeks,” “Secret Mother,” and “Queen Woo.”

The 39-year-old recently starred in the musical La Rose De Versailles and made his last appearance on October 13th.
