Mavericks vs. Warriors Best NBA Prop Bets Today (Predictions for Klay Thompson, Steph

The Golden State Warriors will welcome Klay Thompson back to the Bay Area for the first time as the Dallas Maverick on Tuesday night in the opening game of NBA Cup group play for both teams.

It’ll be strange watching Steph Curry and Klay face off, but maybe we’ll get to see some 3-point contests.

That’s what the prop market is for, because we can bet on how someone will perform in this game on Tuesday night.

Golden State has been one of the five best defensive teams in the league so far this season, and it will be interesting to see how they defend the trio of Thompson, Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic on Tuesday.

Here’s a breakdown of some props that I think are worth betting for Klay’s return.

Odds via DraftKings Sportsbook.

Klay Thompson made OVER 2.5 3-pointers (-175)

How could we not bet on Klay when he returns to the Bay Area?

Thompson is shooting 35.4 percent from three this season and attempting at least five shots from beyond the arc in every game.

After a fast start – he shot 15 times from deep in his first three games – Klay failed to clear that support in five of his last seven games.

However, I’ll get back to him on Tuesday night as he has some motivation to show Golden State what it’s missing. Thompson will be making his attempts and he will be playing in an arena and environment that is very familiar to him.

I wouldn’t be shocked if the Mavs tried to use him early, as Klay has gone just 2 of 13 from deep in his last two games.

Steph Curry OVER 9.5 rebounds and assists (-142)

Today I shared in mine NBA Best Bets Column – Peter’s Points – why Curry is a steal with these rebounds and assists numbers:

Steph Curry is averaging 4.6 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game this season and managed 9.5 rebounds and assists in four of his seven games.

Since returning from his ankle injury, Curry is 2-2 at that prop when playing for more than 30 minutes, and I expect him to have a heavy workload against Dallas as the Warriors are three-point favorites.

Prior to last season, Curry had averaged over 10.0 rebounds and assists in 11 consecutive seasons. On Tuesday he is a value at this number.

Daniel Gafford OVER 6.5 rebounds (+105)

Mavs big man Dereck Lively II could return to the lineup in this game (he was upgraded to questionable), but I still think Daniel Gafford is worth a shot with his rebounding prowess.

The Warriors aren’t particularly strong on the court, and Gafford’s minutes haven’t improved much even with Lively II out. Instead, he splits time with Dwight Powell at center stage.

This season, Gafford has seven or more boards in six of his 10 games, including several games earlier in the season when Lively was healthy. At +105, Gafford is a value target in this market on Tuesday.
