World Kindness Day is celebrated at Krispy Kreme and beyond

GARDEN CITY, S.C. (WPDE) — Wednesday is World Kindness Day.

Krispy Kreme Donuts celebrated by handing out free donuts.

The first 500 people in each store received a free box containing a dozen original glazed donuts.

People were encouraged to share these donuts with colleagues, friends and strangers.

The first person to answer the door at Garden City Krispy Kreme said he planned to share his hot and ready donuts with his barber.

Whether it involves donuts or not, the day encourages everyone to share kindness.

Ideas include opening the door for someone, complimenting a stranger, or expressing gratitude on social media.
