John Krasinski is the “hottest man in the world”: Emily Blunt reacts

John Krasinski’s coronation as People’s Sexiest Man Alive on Tuesday included a celebratory cover story, a glamorous photo shoot — and a promise to take on more domestic duties.

The 45-year-old “Office” heartthrob and “Jack Ryan” actor joked that his wife and “A Quiet Place” co-star Emily Blunt have plans to keep him humble as he joins the ranks of honorees, including Patrick Dempsey and Chris Evans, Michael B. Jordan, Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise. “I think it will make me do more housework,” Krasinski said in his cover story.

“After this comes out, she’ll be like, ‘Okay, that means you’re really going to deserve it here at home,'” he added.

Krasinski and the The Devil Wears Prada alum married in July 2010 and share two daughters together. While the Hollywood power couple had previously made fun of their romance, Krasinski was open about their marriage, telling the magazine he was “so happy.” He also said it was a “beautiful thing” to grow and develop alongside the Oscar-nominated “Oppenheimer” star.

Beyond the extra chores, Krasinski said Blunt joked about another way to celebrate his new title: plastering the walls of her Brooklyn home with his magazine cover.

“My kids are going to love this, it won’t be weird at all,” he teased.

Apparently Blunt wasn’t the only one joking about Krasinski’s coronation. Fans and critics also reacted to the latest Sexiest Man Alive on social media. Several users took to a popular post from “The Office” to congratulate Krasinski – tweeting photos of actor Randall Park instead of the “If” director. In the series, Krasinski’s Jim pranks his colleague Dwight (Rainn Wilson) by hiring an actor (Park) to perform his duties.

For some other social media users, Krasinski’s coronation also caused divisiveness. While one fan tweeted that it was “about time he got this recognition,” another user wrote that the decision meant “another devastating Tuesday night in November,” seemingly foreshadowing the results of the 2024 election. On Instagram, fans congratulated the “fucking DREAM BOAT,” while others mourned their chosen stars, including Pedro Pascal and Glen Powell.

Like some skeptics, Krasinski initially thought his election was a joke.

“Actually just an instant blackout. No thoughts,” he told the magazine. “Apart from the fact that I might get screwed. So I don’t wake up and think, “Is this the day I’m going to be asked to be the Sexiest Man Alive?” And yet it was the day you did it. You guys really raised the bar for me.”
