Why New York won’t allow betting on the Mike Tyson-Jake Paul boxing match

New Yorkers who want to bet on Iron Mike’s return to the ring will have to get creative.

The Empire State is one of the few states that does not allow betting on Friday’s expected Netflix fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Seven of the 38 states with legalized gambling have banned betting on the fight, according to ESPN.

Despite the interest, some states are choosing to stay away from the event due to some deviations from standard procedure for boxing matches.
