Torrance courthouse after suspicious device found

The Torrance Courthouse was evacuated Wednesday in response to at least one suspicious package found in the building.

The situation began around 9 a.m. at the building on Maple Avenue, north of Torrance Boulevard. The building is located in the Torrance Civic Center area, which also includes City Hall and the Torrance Police Department headquarters.

There was no immediate information about what exactly caused the concerns.
