Avalanche loses Kaapo Kahkonen to the Winnipeg Jets on waivers

After just one game for the Colorado Avalanche goaltender, Kaapo Kahkonen is returning to the Winnipeg Jets.

The 28-year-old Kahkonen was placed on waivers by the Winnipeg Jets in October, while the Colorado Avalanche claimed him off waivers.

Now the well-traveled Kahkonen returns to Winnipeg after being acquired by his former team yesterday after the Avalanche granted him a waiver.

Kahkonens’ only appearance with the Avalanche came on October 30 against the Tampa Bay Lightning, in a 5-2 loss in which Kahkonen conceded 4 goals on 20 shots.

In 140 career games, split between the Minnesota Wild, San Jose Sharks, New Jersey Devils and Colorado Avalanche, Kahkonen is 49-68-15 with a 3.34 goals against average and a .898 save percentage with 4 shutouts.
