Man, 48, seriously injured in stabbing in Carthage

CARTHAGE, N.Y. (WWNY) – A 48-year-old man suffered serious injuries in a stabbing Monday, according to Carthage police.

The department says it is investigating a stabbing that occurred Monday at 600 South Washington Street in Carthage.

It is said the 48-year-old was stabbed in the chest. He was transported to Carthage Area Hospital where he was stabilized and later transferred to SUNY Upstate where he is in stable condition.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing. Police say there is no threat to the community.
