1 dead, 2 children injured in Houston crash: reports


The accident occurred on the Eastex Freeway near Aldine Bender Road in Houston.

According to multiple reports, a woman was killed and two children were injured in Houston, Texas, after a pickup truck traveling the wrong way collided with the SUV she was driving.

According to news stations Fox 26 and KHOU, a pickup truck traveling southbound in the northbound lane of the Eastex Freeway crashed into an SUV traveling north early Sunday at 3 a.m. local time.

A woman, the driver of the SUV, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to KHOU, two children, ages 6 and 14, were in the truck at the time of the accident. They were taken to hospital for their injuries.

The driver of the pickup suffered a broken leg and police believe he may have been driving drunk, Fox 26 reported.

Who were the accident victims?

The names of the driver and victims were not released.

The Houston Police Department and the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences did not immediately respond to USA TODAY.
