1 dead after crash near SR-163 in Miramar area, police say – NBC 7 San Diego

At least one person died in a two-vehicle crash Monday evening near southbound State Route 163 in the Miramar area, police said.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident occurred on Kearny Villa Road around 6 p.m.

One person was taken to the hospital, where they later died, SDPD Officer John Buttle said.

According to police, a light pole was hit in the collision.

Southbound SR-163 was closed north of the Kearny Villa Road on-ramp but reopened shortly before 11 p.m., Caltrans San Diego said.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
