2 people found dead after suspected slash-and-burn at Cypress Hill home

Two people were found at a home in Cypress Hill on Sunday following a suspected slash-and-burn incident, police said.

Investigators say officers were called to 186 Warwick St. around 4 p.m

Police identified the victims as 91-year-old Roosevelt Simmons and 66-year-old Jaqueline Deylons. They say both were found on the ground with cuts to their necks.

The two were pronounced dead at the scene and their bodies were removed from the apartment by the coroner’s office as an emotional crowd gathered outside the apartment.

Details about a suspect or motive behind the deadly attack were not immediately clear as of Sunday evening.
