Local News

The accident occurred early Sunday morning on the FE Everett Turnpike.

A New Hampshire woman was seriously injured in an early morning crash on the FE Everett Turnpike on Sunday.

According to New Hampshire State Police, troopers were dispatched to the north side of the highway in Nashua at 5:01 a.m. for a report of an accident.

When police arrived, they found a blue Toyota Matrix that had crashed into a bridge pillar on the right side of the road. The driver, who police later identified as Molly Rodwell, 21, of Nashua, was trapped in the vehicle.

Nashua firefighters responded to the scene and extricated Rodwell from the car. First responders then transported Rodwell by medical helicopter to a hospital in Massachusetts to be treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

All northbound lanes were closed for approximately 40 minutes to allow the rescue helicopter to land on the highway.

The crash is still under investigation.

Police ask anyone who witnessed the accident or has information to contact Trooper Abigail Wells at 603-230-3192 [email protected].
