5-star recruit Caleb Cunningham is transferring from Alabama football to Ole Miss

Ole Miss has traded away one of Alabama football’s top recruits in the 2025 class.

Caleb Cunningham told On3 on Wednesday that he has relinquished his commitment to Lane Kiffin and the Rebels.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Cunningham is listed as a five-star receiver ranked No. 2 in the 2025 class and No. 16 overall.

The Mississippi native had been committed to Alabama since the summer. Cunningham had visited Ole Miss the previous weekend.

The Crimson Tide had the No. 1 recruiting class before Cunningham’s resignation, according to 247Sports. Then it fell to No. 2 behind Ohio State after Cunningham decommitted.

Without Cunningham, Alabama still signed four five-star recruits in quarterback Keelon Russell, offensive lineman Michael Carroll, cornerback Dijon Lee and tackle Ty Haywood.

Alabama now has 22 commits in the 2025 class.

The only other receiver in the 2025 class committed to Alabama is Lotzeir Brooks, a three-star prospect from New Jersey.
