76ers vs. Lakers Prediction: Odds, expert picks, expected starting lineups, betting trends and stats

Tyrese Maxey is out for the 76ers, so Paul George and Philly take on the Los Angeles Lakers on the West Coast in a nightcap.

Philadelphia is 1-6 this season and Joel Embiid is missing every day. Now that Maxey is out with a hamstring injury, there’s a lot of pressure on Paul George, similar to the Kawhi Leonard-less days in Los Angeles. This is nothing new for George or Philly, but it is frustrating for the league’s fans.

Los Angeles is 4-4 and has lost two games in a row and four of its last six games. There have been some rotational hiccups, but that’s bound to happen early in the season and on a five-game road trip (1-4). The Lakers are back home, Anthony Davis is questionable. With him, Los Angeles should overtake Philadelphia, but this is the NBA where anyone can beat anyone.

With that said, let’s dive into the matchup and offer some information and maybe a sweat or two.

We have all the information and analysis you need to know before the game, including the latest information on how to reach the opening tip, projected lineups, current team performances, player stats and of course our predictions, tips and best bets for the game from our modeling tools and our team of experts.

NBC Sports Bet Best Bet

Vaughn Dalzell (@VmoneySports) likes D’Angelo Russell to underperform his points + rebounds + assists average:

“D’Angelo Russell had a terrible performance in the last game against the Grizzlies, posting 12 points, 3 assists and 1 rebound in a season-low 22 minutes. JJ Redick got tired of his defense in the third quarter of the Memphis comeback, so he benched him, and that will likely impact D-Lo here against Philly.

D-Lo shot 8 of 26 (30.7%) and 4 of 14 from distance (28.5%) in the last two games after setting a season-high 19 points. It’s D-Lo’s fourth game in seven days and I don’t think his new coach trusts him, so I’ll bet on D-Lo’s PRA or points prop.
