The force of the impact, which occurred around 4:15 p.m., caused debris to flow across the highway.

All westbound traffic will be closed at MacArthur Boulevard.

The Texas Department of Transportation says it needs to send engineers to inspect the bridge, so the closure is expected to last a long time.

“They (TxDOT) are currently en route to the scene,” an Irving police spokesman said. “We do not have an ETA for the road opening. We ask the public to seek an alternative route.”

According to the spokesman, no injuries were reported.
