A Fairfax County man is charged in the alleged killing of a 75-year-old mother, police said

A Fairfax County, Virginia, man was arrested Thursday morning for allegedly killing his mother, authorities said.

At approximately 9:40 a.m., officers responded to a report of a deceased person in the 6300 block of Lincolnia Road in Lincolnia. When they arrived, police said they found the victim, Myong Kim, 75, with trauma to his upper body.

Police said she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said they discovered the suspect, John Kim, 39, “fatally attacked his mother.” He remained at the scene until officers arrived.

He is charged with second-degree murder and is being held without bail at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
