A school bus crash in downtown Charleston sends students and driver to the hospital

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – Three students and two drivers were hospitalized in a collision between a school bus and a pickup truck.

Police and Charleston County School District officials confirmed that four students were on the bus at the time of the accident.

The call about the accident came in around 7:50 a.m. on Monday.

The four students came from Daniel Jenkins Academy. Three of those four students, the bus driver and the driver of a GMC pickup truck were all injured.

The students and the bus driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries. According to police, the truck driver was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.

It is not yet clear what caused the crash.
