Actor Song Jae-rim has died at the age of 39

Actor Song Jae-rim died on Thursday at the age of 39, and the cause of death was still unclear as of Tuesday evening.

According to the Seoul Seongdong Police Station, Song was found dead at his home in Seoul on Thursday afternoon.

“There is currently no evidence of foul play,” said a police station official.

Song’s funeral will be held at Yeouido St. Mary’s Funeral Hall in Seoul.

The actor had recently changed his Instagram profile message to read, “A long journey begins.”

It’s been 41 weeks since his last Instagram post, and his activity on X, formerly Twitter, was discontinued in March.

Born in 1985, Song Jae-rim gained wide recognition after his debut in the MBC drama series “The Moon Embracing the Sun” (2012).

After his breakthrough role, Song appeared in several popular TV dramas, including “Cool Guys, Hot Ramen,” “Inspiring Generation,” “Two Weeks” and “Queen Woo.”

He also made a strong impression on the big screen in “Grand Prix,” “The Suspect” and “Bait.”

Song most recently appeared on stage in the musical “La Rose De Versailles”, his last performance taking place on October 13th.

Song’s coffin is scheduled to be retrieved on Thursday, with the ceremony scheduled for noon.
