Throw Bangladesh chose Bat vs Afghanistan

Bangladesh stand-in captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz won the toss against Afghanistan in the third ODI in Sharjah and elected to bat first. Mehidy led the side in place of regular captain Najmul Hossain Shanto, whose groin injury has ruled him out not only of this game but also of the upcoming Tests against the West Indies.
In another change to their team, Bangladesh also decided to rest fast pacer Taskin Ahmed for the crucial final match against Afghanistan. Instead of Shanto and Taskin, they brought in Zakir Hasan and debutant Nahid Rana respectively.

Rana, 22, has the ability to bowl consistently at 140km/h and has impressed selectors on Test tours of Pakistan and India in recent months. He has only played ten List A games so far, taking 26 wickets at a fantastic average of 16.46.

Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi, meanwhile, confirmed that he would play with the same starting XI for the third consecutive time despite his side losing the second ODI by 68 runs on Saturday. Earlier, a 92-run win in the first game had given them a 1-0 lead in the series.
