Alabama vs LSU live stream, where to watch, TV channel, prediction, picks, spread, football game odds

No. 11 Alabama and No. 14 LSU meet at Tiger Stadium with the postseason on the line. Neither team is dreaming of SEC titles for the first time in a long time, but the College Football Playoff is still within reach.

The Tide (6-2, 3-2 SEC) and Tigers (6-2, 3-1) meet in a de facto elimination game in the CFP race with four games remaining in the regular season. It’s a strange backdrop to this rivalry, where there’s always something at stake, but the tenor of the entire season rarely depends on the final result. Failure in the CFP would be a disappointment for both schools, especially Alabama, whose fans have been spoiled by Nick Saban’s unparalleled success for 17 seasons. Now Kalen DeBoer leads the Tide into the bayou and tries to become the first first-year Alabama coach to beat LSU since 1990 (Gene Stallings).

Meanwhile, Brian Kelly, whose programs typically peak in his third season as coach, is at a turning point. The Tigers recovered brilliantly from their season-opening loss to USC, but then fell in the second half at Texas A&M two weeks ago. A team’s coach will satisfy the fans. The other is labeled as a disappointment. It’s an exciting duel on the field, on the sidelines and in the college football sportsbook. Below we will address all of these topics.

Alabama vs. LSU: Need to know

A battle of the top quarterbacks: Without Jalen Milroe, Alabama could suffer three or four losses this season. He doesn’t quite fit what Kalen DeBoer wants to do on offense, but he’s still a standout in the system, scoring 25 touchdowns (13 passes) while struggling just enough to get strong yardage and drives in wins against South Carolina and Georgia earlier this season. LSU’s Garrett Nussmeier was phenomenal most of the year, a worthy successor to Heisman winner Jayden Daniels, but then came the second-half performance two weeks ago at Texas A&M. Did he see ghosts? He threw three interceptions and put the Tigers in a no-win situation; They lost for the first time in 104 games when they led by 10 points at halftime. He has thrown as many touchdowns (seven) as interceptions in the last four games.

LSU’s D-line against Milroe is key: Milroe is dangerous both in the air and on the ground, but he is also vulnerable to the pass rush. He’s been sacked 11 times in the last four games, a stunning trend that needs to be corrected if the Tide want to make the playoffs. LSU has played fantastic passing all season, picking up 28 players, including 13 in the last three games. Former Oregon transfer Bradyn Swinson leads the attack and ranks eighth nationally with eight sacks, and linebacker Whit Weeks has emerged as a threat in recent weeks. Milroe dominated LSU last season with four rushing touchdowns, so slowing him down is the key to victory for the Tigers.

LSU offensive lineman out: LSU offensive guard Garrett Dellinger will miss the game with an upper ankle sprain that requires surgery. This is a big loss for the Tigers, who entered the week leading the SEC in pass protection and allowing just four sacks. Can Alabama take advantage in the middle of the Tigers’ offensive line? LSU has struggled to run the ball most of the year with the SEC’s worst rush offense (115.3 ypg) and had to in the 38-23 loss at Texas A&M two weeks ago when Dellinger went down , being held to a season-low 1.0 yards per rush with the injury.

Alabama vs LSU Prediction, Tips

Which Garrett Nussmeier shows up on Saturday evening? The LSU quarterback was fantastic in the first half against Texas A&M two weeks ago, but he collapsed in the second half as he threw three interceptions and watched a 10-point lead turn into a 15-point loss. Alabama’s defense won’t scare many quarterbacks in the secondary, but the Tide can mix things up and force them to make mistakes thanks to their defensive line. Milroe is the straw that mixes the drink of the tide. If he finds space and sprints about 50 yards, Alabama wins. I’d feel safer with this pick if it wasn’t at night, but we’re sticking with the Tide as the slight favorite. Pick: Alabama -3
