Angels sign Travis d’Arnaud to two-year deal » Email

Yes, this is actually a great deal for the Halos. Travis d’Arnaud is an excellent mentor to younger pitchers, he will be an excellent mentor to their younger catchers, and he is a great hitter coming off the bench late.

I also really like Washington’s hiring of Fasano. He and Ron know each other very well, Travis knows Fasano and they will all help with team chemistry and culture.

Great, low risk, movement of angels. If I’m an Angels fan, I definitely give it two thumbs up and I’m glad they’re actually going in the right direction so far this offseason.

There is no point in giving a free agent huge deals. They need depth and more quality players all around. Hiring valuable, highly skilled veterans at low to mid-cost is a great way to help your team build a winning culture, and I think the Angels are doing a good job so far.

I’m not saying they’re suddenly going to turn into a competitor or anything, but they’re taking the right steps to build a winning culture and improve their clubhouse with experienced leadership.

And who doesn’t love a few “gifts” from veterans? Lol
