Anthony Davis talks about how he deals with plantar fasciitis

Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis is off to a dominant start to the 2024-25 season, but as always, his health is worth keeping an eye on.

Davis recently suffered a heel injury, which he said he had been dealing with since the summer, and was therefore forced to miss the loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.

He was later diagnosed with plantar fasciitis, an injury that had apparently been present for some time. Davis returned to action on Friday evening against the Philadelphia 76ers and once again put in an exceptional performance with 31 points, nine rebounds, one assist and four blocks. However, he was still struggling with pain in his foot.

“It hurt. [It’s] “It definitely bothers me, but we’ll get through it,” Davis admitted.

While Davis plans to continue playing through the injury in the future, he discussed how he’s dealing with it so he can be on the floor for his teammates.

“Yeah, I’ll take it easy enough to go out and play. Then I just try to manage it as the game goes on and make sure I stay loose so I don’t get too tight again,” Davis said.

“But it’s something we get under control and keep finding ways to keep it light. It felt good for the most part. There were some parts of the game where it really bothered me. But I think the rest days, the days between games, are the most important. I get the chance to get treated right and feel good about being in the game.”

This isn’t an ideal situation for Davis and the Lakers, considering they’re just nine games into an 82-game regular season. Hopefully they can make it so the big man doesn’t have to miss any significant time since he’s been playing at an MVP level on the court.

Anthony Davis on the Lakers’ win over the 76ers

After a tough 1-4 road trip, the Lakers returned home and defeated the 76ers on Friday night. Anthony Davis discussed what the team has done better and how they can build on that in the future.

“The things we talked about before the game, the transition and the feedback on both ends of the floor, I think we did that.” Obviously they’re missing their two big players in Joel (Embiid) and Tyrese (Maxey). , but we always preach that it’s not about who we play, it’s about how we play. We just wanted to come out and be better on defense, especially in transition, and then get better on offense with our performance. I think we did a good job of that tonight.”
