Are David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs playing tonight? The Lions RBs got off to a quiet start

The Detroit Lions have one of the NFL’s best running back duos in Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery, but both defenders had a quiet start to their Week 10 game against the Houston Texans.

Montgomery was sensational in eight games, recording 488 rushing yards, 161 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. Montgomery has already surpassed his total receiving yards from last season and has a good chance of finishing with more rushing yards as well.

Gibbs was even more productive than his backfield counterpart, totaling 656 rushing yards, 165 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. He is on pace to break his two career-best totals from last season.

But Montgomery and Gibbs got off to a slow start Sunday night against the Texans. Here’s a look at what they’ve done so far.

Is David Montgomery playing tonight?

Montgomery plays Sunday night and has no injury involved in the game, so that has nothing to do with his slow start. The Lions’ offense is off to a poor start overall, so that’s the main reason for Montgomery’s poor numbers so far.

Is Jahmyr Gibbs playing tonight?

Like Montgomery, Gibbs is active and healthy.
