Army’s star quarterback scores his first touchdown after returning from injury on Saturday

The Army Black Knights look to move on and be one of the four remaining undefeated teams in the country when they take on the North Texas Mean Green on Saturday.

As the country celebrates Veteran Day weekend, West Point football players are working to improve their chances of making the College Football Playoff.

The program is thrilled to have star quarterback Bryson Daily back under center after he missed last week’s game against the Air Force Falcons. Whatever the “unknown injury” that Army head coach Jeff Monken reported that kept his quarterback out last week doesn’t appear to be a problem this weekend in Denton, Texas.

After the Mean Green opened the game with a drive-opening field goal, the Black Knights trailed for the first time all season. It only lasted a few minutes of the game, however, as the Army offense capped a nine-play, 48-yard drive with Daily’s 20th rushing touchdown of the season, recording a 10-yard rush to regain the lead ( 7). -3.

Daily entered Saturday’s game with 909 yards rushing and remains the leading candidate for the Heisman Trophy at season’s end. He also ranks third nationally with a quarterback rating (QBR) of 89.4.

The team will try to control the pace of play in the competition. They are currently the second slowest in college football, compared to North Texas, which is the 10th fastest team.

The Black Knights have won their last 12 games, currently the best streak in the FBS. The team is seeking its first undefeated season for the first time since 1949.

The game is available on ESPN2.
