Beyonce and Charli XCX lead the 2025 honorees

play

Not that the most awarded artist in Grammys history needs a coronation, but Beyoncé could still get one.

The multi-hyphenate superstar, who has won 32 Grammys, leads the nominations for the 67Th annual Grammy Awards with 11 for her country album “Cowboy Carter”, notably for Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Song of the Year (“Texas Hold ‘Em”).

Following Beyoncé on the nomination list, Charli xcx, Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar and Post Malone are all members of the seven-member club. They are followed by a trio of artists who received six nominations each: Taylor Swift and Grammy World newcomers Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan.

This year’s awards ceremony will take place on February 2nd at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and will be broadcast live on CBS and Paramount+.

The exceptionally diverse list of nominees for the 2025 ceremony includes André 3000 and Jacob Collier, who are vying for album of the year alongside Beyoncé, Carpenter, Charli XCX, Swift, Eilish and Roan, while best new artists include Benson Boone, Teddy Swims and Doechii are , Khruangbin, RAYE, Shaboozey, Carpenter and Roan.

Those looking for veterans can look forward to the recording of the AI-produced “Now and Then” by the Beatles (record of the year, best rock performance) and the Rolling Stones (best rock album, “Hackney Diamonds”).

Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy, attributes the recognition of the zigzag genres to the Recording Academy’s 13,000 voting members, a group that has diversified since 2019 with 66% new voters, including 3,000 women.

Gone are the days when “people thought it was three old guys in the back closet” coming up with nominations, Mason tells USA TODAY. “Our voters put their heart and soul into their jobs…The trend I see is toward excellence. There’s so much great music on this year’s list.”
