Bowl predictions for Alabama football after LSU’s disbandment: Advancement in the CFP

Not only is Alabama football still alive for the College Football Playoff, it looks like it has the potential to be a force in the CFP.

Sunday’s latest bowl predictions reflect this.

The no. 11 Crimson Tide dismantled the No. 15 LSU 42-13 at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to keep Alabama’s CFP hopes alive.

Meanwhile, LSU was all but eliminated from the CFP with a third loss.

Alabama got four rushing touchdowns from quarterback Jalen Milroe, and the Alabama defense held the Tigers without a touchdown for most of the game.

Here’s a look at the latest bowl projections and predictions as of November 10th.

Alabama football bowl projections

CBS: College Football Playoffs

Jerry Palm’s latest bowl predictions not only have Alabama making it to the CFP, but the Crimson Tide is also projected to win the SEC and secure third place. That would give Alabama a first-round bye and a spot in the Peach Bowl on Dec. 31 in Atlanta. The Crimson Tide would face the winner of the game between Nos. 6 and 11, which Palm’s prediction would be Georgia and Indiana.

247Sports: CFP

Brad Crawford of 247Sports also expects Alabama to make the CFP, but he doesn’t expect the Crimson Tide to get as good a seed as Palm. Crawford expects Alabama to be the No. 10 seed and face No. 7 Notre Dame in a first-round game in Notre Dame, Indiana. The winner of that game would then face No. 2 seed Texas in the Sugar Bowl on January 1st in New Orleans. Crawford predicts Alabama beats Notre Dame but loses to Texas.
