Businesses and streets in Loveland reopen after gas leak repairs

Loveland Symmes Fire Department officials said Loveland Madeira Road at East Kemper Road will reopen at 8 p.m. Monday after being closed since about 10 a.m. due to a gas leak.

Duke Energy employees spent much of the day locating and repairing the leak that shut down several businesses in the Loveland Madeira corridor. Fire officials reported on Facebook that all businesses on Loveland-Madeira Road from Cottonwood Drive to Interstate 275 were closed.

It is unclear what caused the gas leak.

As a reminder, although the leak has been repaired, East Kemper Road from Loveland Madeira Road to the railroad tracks will remain closed until Wednesday to complete the originally planned construction work.
