Cam Newton is already tired of talking about the Dallas Cowboys on ESPN

Cam Newton has not yet celebrated his one-month anniversary with Stephen A. Smith on ESPN First recording and he’s already tired of talking about the Dallas Cowboys.

In a recent episode of his podcast The edgeCowboys linebacker Micah Parsons and teammate Trevon Diggs listed their top five NFL quarterbacks. Noticeably absent was Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. To be fair, Prescott isn’t playing like a top-five quarterback this season. But it was still loud to be snubbed by his own teammates. Loud enough to be an issue on Friday mornings First recordinga programming decision that Newton apparently disagreed with.

“Can I tell you my feelings?” Meanwhile, Newton asked Molly Qerim, Ryan Clark and Stephen A. Smith First takes Cowboys segment. “Can I really tell you my true feelings? Why are we talking about the irrelevant Dallas Cowboys? You sum it up, Micah Parsons, yes, he has success with the podcast and with the content.

“Here’s the thing, we all have podcasts. But that’s not the only player actively participating in a podcast. We’re talking about a discussion, if you want to talk about podcasts, Amon-Ra St. Brown has a podcast. We don’t talk about him. Welcome to First recording And welcome to daytime sports television during the NFL season, where the Cowboys don’t have to be good to remain happy kings. Sports fans might be frustrated First takes Fixation on the Cowboys, but it’s based much more on audience interest than Stephen A. Smith’s. And the rest First recording quickly realized this after Newton told them how he really felt.

“The rest of the time you work on television, you’re going to be talking about them because people care about them,” Clark Newton warned of the Cowboys.

“Cam Newton,” Smith interrupted. “Let me teach you about television. It’s not about what’s important to you. It’s about what interests the audience. And the fact is: no matter how terrible, how dysfunctional, how incompetent they seem, it doesn’t stop!”

If Amon-Ra St. Brown was on the Cowboys and named quarterbacks better than Dak Prescott, you better believe this would be an issue First recording. But Brown is a great wide receiver in Detroit, and it’s just not the same nationally.

Friday was Newton’s fourth episode of First recordingand he was asked every time to talk about the Cowboys. Get ready for 5-5, 6-6, 7-7 and so on. Because as Smith noted, it doesn’t matter how good or bad the Cowboys are; ESPN will talk about them as long as they rate.
