Capcom’s silence confirms Resident Evil 9 leaks

There may have been an absence from Resident Evil news recently, but speculation and leaks have been inevitable; This one in particular could prove to be the most significant. Given the consistent performance of the Resident Evil series and the huge success of Resident Evil 4 Remake and Resident Evil 4: Separate Ways DLC, it’s hardly surprising that Capcom is already busy working on Resident Evil 9, the ninth main entry in the series . And guess what? An early version of the game was reportedly playtested by a source.

Any information to be shared is based on rumors until Capcom officially confirms otherwise. If you’ve been waiting for the next Resident Evil game, you’re in for a big surprise. There could be some major spoilers, so be careful.

As far as the source has confirmed, Resident Evil 9 will continue four years after the events of Resident Evil Village, not with the Shadows of Rose DLC, but with the core game itself. Leon S. Kennedy and Jill Valentine will return as the main protagonists and for the first time Be a partner in a Resident Evil game. They appeared together in the animated film “Biohazard: Death Island” and seem to get along very well.

Additionally, Chris Redfield and Barry Burton will make a triumphant return, albeit in supporting roles, interacting with the player via radio calls. Leon will look like she did in Resident Evil: Damnation, while Jill will dress more tactically like she did in the Resident Evil 5: Lost in Nightmares DLC. While Leon will appear slightly older with an unshaven face and slightly longer hair, Jill will maintain her look from Resident Evil: Death Island.

The story follows BSAA’s Jill and DSO’s Leon as they travel to an island to investigate the company responsible for the creation of Evelyn in Resident Evil 7. The company is now creating masked clones of Evelyn, a biological weapon, using the megamycete Miranda supplied to Resident Evil Village. This actually corresponds to the ending of Resident Evil Village.

We knew about the BSAA’s development of semi-intelligent BOWs. When the model was extracted from the game, it was discovered to be the same model as Chris Redfield. This seems to be the reason why the Megamycete continues to be experimented with, as clones are nothing new in the Resident Evil series. Chris Redfield and Barry Burton will contact them several times to support Jill and Leon in their goal. During one of the calls, Chris will also mention Rosemary Winters.

To save the islanders from the megamycete, Chris suggests using Rose’s blood for a vaccination. For this reason, Chris Redfield’s desire to keep Rose in his care is understandable. The Megamycete will infect Leon and Jill. The Megamycete is used to protect Rose. Evelyn’s voices will haunt them as they hallucinate throughout the game. As part of their ongoing investigation, Blue Umbrella will return as a good company to assist the BSAA and the DSO. The island’s structure includes a temple, laboratories, a defunct industry, dark forests, a hospital, caves, and houses owned by villagers.

The main enemies of the game will be evolved zombies that live on the island. They are similar to the Ganados from Resident Evil 4 in that they are agile and wield a variety of melee weapons such as axes and knives. Those infected with the mold worship the moon at night and have moon tattoos on their arms. During the game, Leon is pursued by an antagonist who acts as a stalker. Jill, on the other hand, is eventually pursued by the Goat Man (Yoggie). Mr. Simon is the new main villain, overseeing the large-scale production of biological weapons. He suffered psychological trauma as a child and has a troubled past.

The source mentioned playtests conducted in Japan in April and September this year. In the April test, Jill was in a remote hospital and in the September test, Leon was in the forest. Resident Evil 9 will reportedly pick up where Resident Evil 7 and Village left off, and with the start of Evelyn the Megamycete scenario will come full circle.

There seems to be a solid narrative connection between the storylines of Resident Evil 7 and Village. Although Capcom has acknowledged the conclusion of the Winters Family Saga, there has been no indication of restricting access to the existing story. Leon and Jill work together, with Barry appearing in the plot – albeit in a supporting role. The cloned enemies are hardly a new concept for Capcom and make a lot of sense.
