Cavaliers vs. Nets Prediction: Odds, expert picks, projected starting lineups, betting trends and stats

The undefeated Cleveland Cavaliers welcome the Brooklyn Nets to town, fresh off an OT loss to the Celtics.

Cleveland is 10-0 with wins over the Warriors, Bucks, Lakers and Knicks. The Cavaliers have the remaining advantage here as they have the day off after Saturday’s 19-point win over Golden State.

Brooklyn is 4-5 and coming off a disappointing OT loss to the Celtics in Boston (108-104). The Nets led at halftime and the Celtics were without Jaylen Brown, meaning Brooklyn missed an opportunity. The Nets are 1-3 on the road and played back-to-back games against the Grizzlies.

With that said, let’s dive into the matchup and offer some information and maybe a sweat or two.

NBC Sports Bet Best Bet

Vaughn Dalzell (@VmoneySports) likes that Dorian Finney-Smith is under his 13.5 points + rebounds:

“When you watch this match it’s hard to imagine Dorian Finney-Smith getting involved in the mix. His points + rebounds are 13.5, a number he has exceeded in five of nine games.”

The Nets went to OT and lost to the Celtics last night. Brooklyn will travel to Cleveland to face the undefeated Cavaliers in their third straight preseason game.

Finney-Smith had 12 P+R in 28 minutes the first time, in Memphis, and a season-high 23 P+R in 28 minutes the second time, also against Memphis. The Cavaliers have less size to limit Finney-Smith, and he won’t be able to guard the Cavaliers in the post, only on the wing, so those 28 minutes could also be reduced in a blowout.

I like Finney-Smith to be below his 13.5 points + rebounds in Cleveland.
