“Cooper Rush is confident and putting in extra work with CeeDee Lamb ahead of the Eagles.”

“The time [I put in] is largely the same,” he said before his game against the Philadelphia Eagles, the team that handed him the only loss on his record. “The routine from week to week is pretty much the same. “I mean, in practice you obviously get more reps and do more things, but it’s exciting. That’s why you work.

“So prepare to get going and get started. …The more games you play, the more reps you collect, put into your library, and access. I’m confident about that. I’ve been here a while and I’ve played with a lot of these guys, which is huge when you’re carrying live ammunition.

“It’s important to trust these guys and be with them beforehand.”

One of those guys is CeeDee Lamb, and in turn, he mirrors the confidence others have in Rush.

The two have also begun putting in work after work, despite the All-Pro receiver dealing with a sprained ACL in his shoulder that he suffered during Atlanta’s Week 9 contest against the Falcons.

“Obviously we developed a connection,” Lamb said. “We did a lot of reps outside of practice – just talking, communicating and getting on the same page. I think this is very important in the upcoming situation. I’m happy for him.”

“We know what Coop can achieve. The confidence is still there. Just hang in there and deliver.”

An added challenge to what Rush wants to accomplish in the next few weeks is the fact that things in 2024 are no longer the way they were when he took the reins in 2022, and that includes the fact that the Cowboys currently have a 3-5 record and no home wins heading into their fourth home game next Sunday against the powerful Eagles.

To be clear, while Rush was tasked with keeping the 2022 season on track, he is now tasked with helping get the 2024 season off the ground back on the track, and before the skid becomes a crash.

However, as mentioned above, his approach will remain the same.

Because, once again, even Kiel.

“Yeah, I mean, we’re just trying to beat Philly,” he said. “I mean, that’s kind of our approach this week. You have to tackle them one at a time. It’s a cliché, but it works. And that’s sort of the goal.”

“You just do it practice by practice, game by game and we’ll see what happens.”
