Dan Campbell talked about the Lions’ interceptions during a sideline interview

The Detroit Lions face a tough battle against the Houston Texans football on Sunday evening, after digging themselves into a 23-7 hole at halftime.

Detroit’s offense seemed out of sync in the first two quarters, due in part to the Texans’ fearsome pass rush. The Lions defense had been unable to contain CJ Stroud until Lions coach Dan Campbell had a chance early in the third quarter.

In his sideline interview early in the second half, Campbell explained what the Lions needed to do to get back in the game.

“We have a mistake here or there,” Campbell said. “If we let this out, we’ll be fine. And then we have to have takeout. Our defense needs to pick up a few things. We’re not going to get everything here at once, so just one thing at a time. We do that.”

Towards the end of Campbell’s interview, the NBC cameras panned back to the game, and lo and behold, Lions cornerback Carlton Davis tackled Stroud on the very next play.

Scary stuff.

Since then, the Lions have cut their deficit to 10 and trailed 23-13 entering the third quarter.
