Denzel Washington says Ryan Coogler will write the next film

The Marvel Cinematic Universe seems ready to return to Wakanda.

Marvel Studios has not officially confirmed that there will be a third film Black panther franchise is in the works, but actor Denzel Washington hinted Tuesday that it is and that he will have a role.

In conversation with the Today Show on Australia’s Channel 9 as part of a Gladiator II At the press conference, Washington said that director Ryan Coogler would be writing a role for him next week Black panther Film.

When asked about his future plans, Washington said: “At this point in my career, I’m only interested in working with the best. I don’t know how many more films I’ll do, probably not that many. “I want to do things I haven’t done yet.”

“I played Othello when I was 22, now I’m going to play it when I’m 70,” he continued. “After that I play Hannibal. Afterwards I talked to Steve McQueen about a film. After that, Ryan Coogler will write a part for me in the next part Black panther.”

Black panther has become one of the hallmarks of the MCU. The 2018 film, starring Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o and Michael B. Jordan, not only received critical acclaim but was also a huge box office success, grossing more than $1.3 billion.

Boseman died in 2020 at the age of 43.

The sequel in 2022, Black Panther: Wakanda Foreverserved as a tribute to the late actor and a way to continue the story of Wakanda and its people. It also opened to success at the box office.
