Arshdeep Singh Gill alias Arsh Dalla, designated a terrorist by India, has probably been arrested after a shootout in the Canadian province of Ontario, sources claimed in New Delhi on Sunday (November 10, 2024).

The incident occurred on October 28, 2024 in Milton.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) said on November 5, 2024 that following an investigation, it had arrested two men on charges of “intentionally discharging a firearm” after the duo went to hospital and one of them was charged with a had been treated for an undiagnosed illness. life-threatening shot and later released.

Their identities were not released and it was said both defendants were “remanded in custody pending a bail hearing.”

According to the sources, one of those arrested is believed to be Arsh Dalla, who was associated with the banned Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) and was running terror modules on behalf of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a designated terrorist who was killed in June 2023.

“The HRPS was contacted by Guelph Police in the early hours of October 28, 2024 after two men attended a hospital in Guelph. One of the men was treated and released for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound he apparently sustained in the Halton area. The other was not injured.

“The HRPS Major Crime Bureau is currently investigating and both men have been arrested. A 25-year-old man from Halton Hills and a 28-year-old man from Surrey, British Columbia, have both been charged with intentionally discharging a firearm,” said a Halton police statement saying they are actively investigating the incident.

Earlier on Sunday, Punjab Police announced the arrest of two gunmen of Arsh Dalla’s gang, who were allegedly involved in the killing of a Sikh activist from Kharar in Mohali last month.

Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said the arrest was made as part of a joint operation by the state special cell, anti-gangster task force and Faridkot police.

The two have been identified as Anmolpreet Singh alias Vishal, a resident of Bhadorh in Barnala, and Navjot Singh alias Neetu, a resident of Nijjar Road in Kharar.

Arsh Dalla, who is accused of involvement in targeted killings, terror financing and extortion in Punjab, was designated a terrorist by the Indian government in January last year.

The Union Home Ministry had said in a statement that he was involved in large-scale cross-border drug and arms smuggling.
