Domestic violence incident in Bluefield leads to arrest of local man

BLUEFIELD, WV (LOOTPRESS) – On November 6, 2024, a domestic violence incident in Bluefield, West Virginia led to the arrest of 32-year-old Devin Greene. Patrolman TM Beggs responded to a call at 708 Wheeling Avenue where he found a female victim who was visibly injured and in distress. The victim, who struggled to stand and suffered from nausea, had visible injuries including a fresh black eye, multiple bumps on her head and blood on her shirt.

She reported that an argument escalated when Mr. Greene allegedly hit her while she was holding their son and then strangled her from behind. The victim stated that she managed to free herself and grabbed a knife in self-defense, which resulted in a cut on Mr. Greene’s hand during the altercation.

Due to her injuries and the possibility of a concussion, EMS arrived on scene. Meanwhile, police located Mr. Greene a short distance from the apartment and took him into custody. Authorities reported that he was uncooperative and showed signs of intoxication, leading to his placement in solitary confinement after he reportedly made suicidal statements.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for further evaluation while her mother remained with the three children who were present during the incident. Charges against Mr. Greene include assault, strangulation and child neglect.
