Donnie Wahlberg’s next TV project following the cancellation of Blue Bloods has been revealed

Donnie Wahlberg shared an update on his latest TV project. The Blue Bloods star is back on the set of his documentary series. Very scary peoplein which the actor explores the twisted lives of some of the most fearsome murderers in recent history.

On Instagram, Donnie shared a selfie with one of the show’s producers, Ronald Lewis, with the caption: “It’s great to work with youand added the hashtag “VeryScaryPeopleSeason6.”

Ronald quickly re-shared the post and praised Donnie as “a truly incredible talent.” “So creative, so real and an absolute joy! Here’s to a great season with #veryscarypeople,” he wrote.

For those unfamiliar with the documentary series, hosted and executive produced by Donnie, it takes a closer look at the lives of some evil criminals such as Charles Manson, Aileen Wuornos and John Wayne Gacy.

The upcoming season of the true crime docuseries will feature eight new episodes and “a comprehensive look into society’s most evil mindswhich reveals unprecedented insight into their twisted crimes through rare in-depth interviews and remarkable archival footage.”

Donnie is the host and executive producer of “Very Scary People.”

According to the synopsis, the new series will include stories about Scott Kimball, “a serial killer who was able to roam free and undetected for six years in the guise of an FBI informant”; Clarence Heatley, a “devil boss who ran a multi-million dollar drug operation marked by dozens of gruesome murders”; and David Matusiewicz, the “mastermind behind a distorted family unit in which he conspired to kidnap his own children and unleashed a deadly, pernicious campaign against his ex-wife.”

Donnie shared in a statement that he is eager to show fans the new episodes. “I can’t wait to get stuck in and start filming the next season of Very Scary People,” he said. “These stories will amaze true crime fans as we uncover the depraved crimes and minds of terrifying killers we haven’t thought of before.”

A release date has yet to be announced.

Production of the new episodes takes place in the middle of the final season of Blue bloodwhich is currently airing on CBS.

The show’s cancellation was confirmed back in May, despite requests from fans and cast members for the drama to continue.

Blue Bloods is coming to an end with its 14th season

Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach confirmed the show would end with Season 14, saying in a statement: “All shows must come to an end. It is important to us to update the schedule. We will finish the show in December.”

Donnie recently previewed the final episode, telling TV Insider: “All I can say is that the final episode will make a lot of people smile– that’s all I say – and cry, but also smile.”
