Eder Militao suffers a knee injury and leaves Real Madrid on a stretcher against Osasuna

Eder Militao left Real Madrid’s La Liga game against Osasuna on Saturday on a stretcher after apparently suffering a serious knee injury.

The 26-year-old Brazil international was sent off after 30 minutes at the Santiago Bernabeu because his cleats appeared to get caught in the turf.

He was treated by medical staff on his right knee before leaving the field on a stretcher with his shirt covering his face. He was replaced by Raul Asencio, who made his debut with the club’s senior team.

Rodrygo (quad) also had to be substituted early in the game, while Lucas Vazquez (hip) was also substituted at halftime.

The club says all three will undergo tests later on Saturday afternoon.

Militao tore the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee in the opening game of last season and did not return until March.

He has been Antonio Rüdiger’s regular central defense partner this season and has made 17 appearances in all competitions, including all 12 league games so far.

Militao moved from Porto for 50 million euros in 2019 and won two Champions League titles, three La Liga titles, a Club World Cup, two European Super Cups, a Copa del Rey and two Supercopas de Espana.

Real Madrid are next in action after the international break at Leganes on November 24th.
