Emboldened men celebrate Donald Trump’s victory by launching online attacks on women

“Hey, bitch, we control your bodies! Guess what, boys are winning again.” Nick Fuentesthe consistently anti-Semitic and racist livestreamer, who describes himself as a “proud incel,” said below Donald TrumpThis week’s election victory. Trump and Fuentes shared dinner in 2022 Kanye West.

“It’s your body, my decision,” Fuentes, who has over 430,000 followers on X and 114,000 on Rumble, continued, donning an America First hat.

Despite Donald Trump’s campaign promise that he would “PROTECT WOMEN AT A LEVEL” like never before and that “WOMEN WILL BE HAPPY, HEALTHY, CONFIDENT AND FREE!” The week after his election seemed violent against women in the digital space.

In the moments and days following Trump’s re-election to the White House, emboldened men have sent those same words to women across the country in comments and private messages on social media. On X, some women posted screenshots of the types of direct messages they received. “Stupid cunt,” reads one message with a laughing emoji. “Your body. My choice. Stupid whore,” says another.

It is unclear how many of these comments on various social media platforms come from bots or men from the United States.

This violent online rhetoric comes at a time when the majority of American voters have decided to elect Trump in his third election campaign – the only time he has won the popular vote.

According to the exit polls, there was an overall 10 percent gender gap between voters who voted for Trump or the vice president Kamala Harris– 55% of men choose Trump, compared to 45% of women. Over 90% of Black women said no to Trump, as did 60% of Latina women. As in 2016 and 2020, white women were the only group of their gender more likely to vote for Trump than for the Democrat.

During Trump’s inauguration in May last year, he was held accountable for sexual abuse and defamation E. Jean CarrollThere are ongoing legal proceedings against him. Trump called Carroll, who testified in court that he raped her in a Bergdorf Goodman dressing room in 1996, a “lunatic,” a “crazy” and a “liar.” He currently owes her $90 million – including interest. The former and future president repeatedly boasted that he had appointed three of the ousted Supreme Court justices Roe v. Wadeeffectively restricting access to abortion and other reproductive health care across the country. And when he ran against Harris, who would have been the first woman and the first Black and South Asian woman to win the presidency, he called her “a low-IQ person” and “stupid as a rock.” “bitch” several times and laughed just days before the election when someone in his crowd yelled that Harris had “worked the corner” in the past. (And that’s only since he announced his third candidacy.)
