Everton’s Dwight McNeil is a doubt about playing against West Ham due to a knee injury

Everton winger Dwight McNeil is doubtful to feature in Saturday’s Premier League game against West Ham United due to a knee injury.

McNeil, 24, has started all 10 league games for Sean Dyche’s side this season but suffered knee pain late in the 1-1 draw at home to Fulham, which resulted in him being forced out of the 86th was replaced in a minute.

McNeil, who has scored four goals this season, has typically played as one of the attacking three behind central striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin in Everton’s 4-2-3-1 formation this season, with recent signings Iliman Ndiaye and Jesper Lindstrom were used in the summer to attack large areas.

Should McNeil be unavailable for the game, Abdoulaye Doucoure – who missed the 1-0 defeat at Southampton due to injury – could return to the starting line-up if he is fit to play behind the striker, or Jack Harrison could return to the side.

Everton start the matchday in 16th place in the Premier League with nine points from their first ten games, but would move above 14th-placed West Ham with a win over Julen Lopetegui’s side.
