Florida head coach Todd Golden faces stalking charges in Title IX sexual harassment complaint

Florida Head men’s basketball coach Todd Golden has been accused of sexual harassment and stalking by an unknown number of women, according to a report in Florida’s student newspaper. The alligator.

The University of Florida administration had no comment the alligator, citing federal law that prevents them from confirming or commenting on Title IX litigation.

Golden, 39, was hired as Florida men’s basketball head coach before the 2022 season, taking the job after a successful stint at the helm San Francisco Men’s Basketball Program.

Golden had worked as an assistant in San Francisco before becoming head coach there. He also served as an assistant coach at Columbia And Auburn early in his career.

According to the Associated Press, Golden signed a contract extension with Florida in early 2024. This extension increased the length of his contract by two years, running through the end of the 2029-30 season, and increased his annual compensation by $1 million. Golden will reportedly earn $4 million annually as part of the extension.

His original contract with Florida was reportedly for six years and $18 million. The contract signed in 2022 initially ran until the 2027/28 season.

Golden is 42-29 as a head coach for Florida and has a 99-65 record overall as a head coach. He is 0-2 in the NCAA Tournament, appearing once each in San Francisco and Florida.

He played college basketball St. Mary’s from 2004 to 2008 and had a brief professional career overseas before beginning college coaching in 2012.
