The United Arab Emirates National Center for Meteorology attributed the unusual weather event to a low pressure system moving from the Arabian Sea to Oman.

Footage shows snow accumulating and covering roads and valleys, a rare occurrence that has surprised many locals given the region's reputation for a consistently dry climate. The United Arab Emirates National Center for Meteorology attributed the unusual weather event to a low pressure system moving from the Arabian Sea to Oman. This weather pattern has brought moisture-laden air to an area known for its dry conditions, causing thunderstorms, hail and rainfall across Saudi Arabia and the neighboring United Arab Emirates. The Saudi Meteorological Ministry has issued warnings of persistent severe weather in the coming days. Thunderstorms, further heavy rainfall, hail and strong winds are expected to continue across the region, reducing visibility and disrupting travel. Officials have advised residents to take precautions due to the unusual weather conditions.
