Former police officer charged with sexual acts against minors – crime in Israel

A former police officer was charged Monday with sex crimes against minors.

The suspect is accused of an illegal act of sodomy while on police duty.

According to the indictment, the 39-year-old officer had relationships with two minors, one aged 12 years and 10 months and the other aged 15 years and five months. The age of both minors was listed as 17 on the same-sex dating app Grindr.

A hearing for the defendant is still pending, said Lihi Shclernik of the Justice Department’s Advocacy and Communications Division.

The alleged crime took place in an apartment in Modi’in and included the exchange of explicit photos and anal penetration.

Charge details

The defendant asked the minors to send him pictures via Grindr. They sent pictures of themselves, to which the defendant responded with a picture of his own genitals. The defendant then picked up the boys from their home in Rehovot and took them to his friend’s apartment in Modi’in.

According to the indictment, as soon as the three arrived at the apartment, they went into the bedroom where the defendant undressed. The minors, however, continued to wear boxer shorts and shirts. The defendant kissed the minors and began touching them. A minor rubbed the defendant’s genitals while he kissed the other.

The document goes on to say that at some point during their interaction, the minors performed oral sex on the defendant, which he then performed on them. The defendant then sodomized the two defendants.

When they were finished, the three left the apartment and the defendant drove the minors back to their original meeting point in Rehovot, the indictment says.
