Fortnite Chapter 6 Leaks Reveal Japanese Theme, New Movement Mechanics, and More

Ahead of its release in December, several reliable leakers have already revealed details about Fortnite Chapter 6 and hinted at the mechanics and setting of the new battle royale. According to prominent leakers, the new chapter will feature a traditional Japanese theme, complete with shrines, wetlands, and a new movement system.

Big gameplay changes are coming

The new chapter begins on December 1st after the end of Chapter 2 Remix and brings with it some cool new features. Players can lie down and use a new swing mechanism to move around the map, which should make battles and travel more interesting.

A Japanese theme will appear everywhere on the new map. Players can expect to find traditional shrines, rivers, and open plains to explore. There is also talk of one new industrial city POI come to the map even though we don’t know much about it yet.

The game is also receiving some other major updates. The Battle Stars system that players use to unlock Battle Pass rewards is being eliminated and replaced with something simpler. The medallions from Chapter 5 also return, but with some changes we haven’t heard about yet.

Fortnite OG is making a comeback

This is one of the biggest leaks Fortnite OG could be back for good. According to the leaks, this separate mode will bring back all seasons of Chapter 1 and switch between them every month from December 2024 to September 2025. Players can enjoy old-school loot in both regular and Zero Build modes.

The game also adds some fun extras. Players will have cat companions called sprites that follow them around the map, and there will be something new called the “Void” feature, although no one knows what it does yet.

The December 1st update coincides with Fortnite’s winter season Winterfest 2024 update scheduled for December 10th. Players can expect the Quad Launcher to return to the loot pool, along with other weapons and items yet to be revealed.

Epic Games hasn’t officially announced anything about this yet, but we could see a reveal during the Chapter 2 Remix finale on November 30th or at the upcoming Game Awards on December 12th.

There are also some changes to how passes work in the game. Starting December 1st, Music and LEGO Passes combine free and premium rewards in one title. Players can claim rewards in any order and even enable auto-claim to receive them automatically.

While we should wait for Epic to confirm everything, these leaks seem pretty solid considering who they come from. It looks like Chapter 6 will be one of the biggest Fortnite updates we’ve seen in a long time.
