Veterans Day brings a wealth of offerings to military members in central Ohio, with local businesses and organizations giving back in delicious and adventurous ways.

  • McDonald’s restaurants in Columbus are celebrating by offering free breakfast to active and former military members. Veterans can enjoy a free Egg McMuffin or Bacon Egg Cheese Biscuit, as well as a hash brown and any size soft drink, tea or coffee. This offer is valid for dine-in or drive-thru customers with a valid military ID.
  • Kroger also honors veterans with a 10 percent discount. Veterans can use this discount in-store with a valid military ID, but certain items are excluded.
  • Starbucks provides veterans with a free cold or hot large coffee.
  • Active duty military members and vets receive a free meal at all Chili’s.
  • Denny’s is offering a free Original Grand Slam to military members from 5 a.m. to noon.
  • IHOP offers free red, white and blueberry pancakes.
  • Krispy Kreme offers free coffee and donuts.

Even after Veterans Day ends, there are offers that last throughout the month.

For those looking to enjoy the outdoors, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), in partnership with US Hotels, is offering 30% off camping reservations, getaway rentals, state-operated cabins or resort lodge stays throughout November. To take advantage of this offer, veterans can visit this website and use the promo code “VETERAN24” for new reservations at participating state parks.
