NEW DELHI: Team India opener Sanju Samson’s golden run came to an abrupt halt Marco Jansenwho bowled him out for a duck in a dramatic start to the second T20I between India and South Africa at St George’s Park in Gqeberha on Sunday.
After several centuries in the previous games, Samson finally fell for a low score as he only stood for three balls before being bowled.
Trying to create space for a shot, Samson exposed his stumps and Jansen, sticking to a perfect length around the leg, caught him playing on the wrong line.
The ball hit the leg stump and left Samson lying there without troubling the scorers.
Commentator Shaun Pollock aptly captured the moment with ‘From Hero to Zero’, summing up the disappointment over the sudden departure of the Indian wicketkeeper-batter.

The early setback put them behind as they lost one of their key players at the end of the first over without adding any runs to the total.
With Abhishek Sharma also disappearing, they are now on the brink Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav, both tasked with rebuilding after the early collapse.
